Aloha ‘Ike Tours

Tour offered Saturdays and Sundays. Maximum 4 people; minimum 2 people. Groups up to 8
people can book a consecutive Saturday and Sunday. Tours depart rain or sun. Tours may be
cancelled due to extreme weather conditions. In such cases, people can reschedule or receive
a refund.


Leave the driving to us. Kick back and relax in an air-conditioned SUV in a boutique tour offered
by an experienced guide.

Legends, Waterfalls, Volcanoes

Itinerary

  • Banyan Drive, aka the Hilo Walk of Fame. Beginning in 1933 Banyan trees have been named for movie stars, politicians, heroes and princesses (Drive-by)

  • Lili’uokalani Gardens and Moku Ola, named after Hawaiian Queen Lili’uokalani, who donated the land to her people. View Edo style Japanese architecture. (Drive-by)

  • King Kamehameha I statute in Wailoa Park, the warrior king who united the islands (Photo-stop)

  • Farmer’s Market, exotic tropical fruit and artisan’s wares (Stop @ 20 minutes)

  • Chocolate/Coffee Farm (On Saturdays stop at the chocolate store) (Sundays drive- by)

  • Hilo Bay, entrance to Waiakea (Photo Stop)

  • Scenic Route, go back in time, view lush tropical vegetation (Non-host lunch)

  • Akaka Falls, moderate hike on paved .4 mile loop with 374 stairs. Bring water bottles and closed toed shoes (Stop @ 50 minutes)

  • Hilo Town, seat to the local government and the University of Hawai’i at Hilo (Drive-by)

  • Rainbow Waianuenue Falls, dwelling of local legends (Photo Stop)

  • Volcano National Park – meet the marvels of Madam Pele

    • Thurston Lava Tube (@ 20 minute easy hike. Stairs)

    • Kilauea Crater, active volcano (Photo Stop)

    • Active Steam Vents (Photo Stop)

    • Volcano House (non-host dinner)

What to Bring

  • Water bottles (water refills provided)

  • Windbreaker (Hilo is the 4th rainiest city in the U.S. -- Umbrellas included)

  • Dress in layers (Akaka Falls can by hot and sunny while Volcano National Park can be chilly)

  • Closed toes comfortable walking shoes (hikes include stairs which can be slippery)

  • Sunglasses/Baseball cap for sun/rain

  • Cash (The farmer’s market is cash-based)

Cancellation Policy

A person may cancel up to 48 hours ahead of a scheduled tour to receive a full refund.  Cancellations with 24 hours notice will be subject to service fees. No refunds on the day of the tour. If the tour operator cancels the tour due to extreme weather, the tour may be rescheduled or a full refund will be given.
